As Ghana marks its 69th Independence Anniversary, the United Party (UP) has called on all Ghanaians to reaffirm their commitment to the founding principles of the nation and work together to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous country.

In a statement issued by the party, Alan Kyerematen, Leader and Founder of the United Party, urged citizens to focus on creating equal opportunities for all, with particular emphasis on empowering the youth and women.

“As we celebrate 69 years since Ghana gained independence, let us reaffirm our dedication to the principles of our founders and collaborate to build a peaceful, unified, and thriving nation that offers equal opportunities for everyone, particularly for young people and women,” the statement said.

The party highlighted that while Ghana has achieved political stability and democratic growth over the decades, the true promise of independence lies in translating this stability into sustainable development, ethical leadership, and inclusive economic progress.

The UP statement further emphasised the importance of integrity, accountability, and patriotic service in public life, calling on citizens to collectively support initiatives that strengthen institutions, uphold the rule of law, and safeguard public trust.

Mr. Kyerematen encouraged Ghanaians to embrace unity and participate actively in national development, stressing that the youth and women, as key drivers of progress, must be empowered to fully contribute to the country’s transformation.

“Together, we can build a Ghana that honours the sacrifices of our past and meets the aspirations of generations yet to come,” he added.
