The Governing Council of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto, to serve in an interim capacity in line with directives from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
In a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Gideon Inoch Abbeyquaye, the Council said the decision was taken at an emergency meeting held on September 24, 2025.
The Council assured the university community, stakeholders, and the general public that UCC remains stable despite the leadership changes, emphasizing that academic and administrative activities are continuing without disruption.
The statement added that the decision has been formally communicated to the Chancellor, the Chairman of Council, the Director-General of GTEC, Prof. Aheto, and the Acting Director of Public Affairs.
