The Upper West Regional Police Command has arrested ten suspects in connection with a series of robberies and abductions in the Kendeu community, Wa West District.
The incidents occurred on Sunday, November 23, 2025, when armed men reportedly attacked road users, stealing money and other valuables. Several market women travelling through the area were also assaulted during the attacks.
A joint team of police and military personnel was quickly deployed, leading to the arrest of ten suspects, while others managed to escape.
Officers recovered five locally manufactured guns, twenty-five live AA cartridges, two spent cartridges, two knives, and several spiritual talismans from the suspects.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the attackers had also abducted two individuals, identified as John Gaan and Dari Moses Dondomor. Both victims and their belongings remain missing as police continue their search in collaboration with complainants and community members.
The Upper West Regional Police Command commended the swift and professional response of its officers, as well as the support of sister security agencies and local leaders.
Integrated patrols continue in the area to deter further criminal activity, while authorities encourage residents to provide credible information to assist ongoing investigations. Police have assured the public of their commitment to safeguarding lives and property and maintaining calm in the community.
