The Word of Truth and Prayers Ministries (TWOTAP) has launched a ‘Care for Widows’ programme aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable widows across Ghana.
Speaking at a press briefing to mark the launch, the Founder and Leader of the ministry, Evangelist Francis Awusi, said the initiative seeks to support widows and widowers who are economically vulnerable.
He stressed that the programme is not limited to members of TWOTAP but is open to widows nationwide.
According to Evangelist Awusi, more than 2,000 widows will benefit from the programme, with each receiving GH₵400 every month to help ease their living conditions.
“Many people have the perception that churches are only interested in taking from their congregations without giving back, but not all churches are like that,” he stated.
He used the occasion to call on other churches to complement government efforts by supporting vulnerable people, especially within their congregations.
Established in Ghana in 2020, The Word of Truth and Prayers Ministries has made significant spiritual and humanitarian contributions to the lives of many.
Evangelist Awusi cautioned that individuals who do not qualify as widows should refrain from attempting to benefit from the programme, noting that clear criteria have been outlined to ensure only genuine widows receive support.
He also called on philanthropists and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to support the initiative, saying such partnerships would help extend assistance to more widows and further improve their living conditions.
He warned the public that he does not solicit support through social media and urged anyone using his name to collect money online to desist immediately.
