Two persons were rescued after a Howo trailer was involved in a road crash at Anyensu near Peki on the Kpeve–Asikuma road on Friday, March 27, 2026.
The accident, which occurred in the late afternoon, left the vehicle extensively damaged, with its carriage overturned and the head detached from the main body. The trailer was reportedly transporting 340 sacks of dried cassava from Kpandai to Juapong at the time of the incident.

The driver, Enoch Amo, 28, and his mate, Osei Kwabena, 32, were trapped in the wreckage following the crash.
Firefighters from the Peki Fire Station, who responded swiftly to a distress call, carried out a successful rescue operation using specialised extrication equipment to free the victims.

Both men were subsequently conveyed to the Peki Government Hospital for medical treatment. No fatalities were recorded.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined and remains under investigation.

Fire officials say the timely intervention helped prevent further harm, as authorities continue to urge motorists to prioritise road safety to reduce such incidents.
