The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery and carjacking incident at Mpatasie, near St. Anthony Hospital in the Ashanti Region.
The suspects, identified as Issaka Jamal, 30, and Kwadwo Badu, 40, were apprehended on Saturday, November 8, 2025, after attempting to flee from police officers along the Ofankor–St. John’s stretch of the Accra–Nsawam Highway.
One of the suspects sustained a gunshot wound during the arrest, while the other suffered minor injuries. Both are receiving treatment at the Police Hospital in Accra.
Preliminary investigations indicate that on Friday, November 7, the suspects and their accomplices attacked two occupants of an unregistered silver Hyundai Tucson (DV-5357-Z) at Mpatasie.

They allegedly made away with GH¢120,000, three mobile phones, identity cards, work tools, and other personal belongings before escaping with the vehicle.
A subsequent police operation led to the recovery of the stolen Hyundai Tucson, GH¢5,900 in cash, a customized number plate marked “Congo-1-24,” and other exhibits.

The recovered items have been secured at the Police Headquarters in Accra, while efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to pursuing intelligence-led operations to ensure all individuals involved in the robbery are arrested and prosecuted.
