Two dead, seven injured in Abor Junction crash

Two people have reportedly died while seven others sustained injuries after a Toyota Voxy bus crashed at Abor Junction on the Mankessim–Accra Highway in the early hours of Thursday, August 6, 2026.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service, the accident happened at about 1:44am, prompting a distress call to the Mankessim Fire Station.

Firefighters and the National Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene, where rescuers found nine people involved in the crash.

The victims comprised two women and five men who were injured, and a man and a woman who died on the spot.

The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment. Three victims were sent to Mercy Women Catholic Hospital in Mankessim, while the bodies of the two deceased were taken to Saltpond Government Hospital in Saltpond.

The driver of the vehicle, registered AS 8911-25, escaped unhurt, and the cause of the crash has not yet been established.

Firefighters later cleared debris from the road to prevent further accidents at the junction.
