Two dead, others injured in accident involving 2 tricycles, KIA at Achimfo

Two people have been confirmed dead and several others injured in a tragic accident involving two tricycles—commonly known as Pragyia—and a Kia Rhino truck.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening at Achimfo, a community near Enchi in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region.

An eyewitness, identified only as Isaiah, said the two tricycle riders were attempting to overtake each other when the unfortunate event happened. According to him, the Kia Rhino driver, who was trailing the tricycles, lost control after experiencing brake failure and veered off the road.

The two tricycles, each carrying four passengers, collided with the oncoming Kia Rhino, resulting in a devastating crash.

Confirming the incident to Adom News, the Assemblyman for the Achimfo Electoral Area, Daniel Asare, described the impact as horrifying.

“One person died on the spot, and another was pronounced dead at the Enchi Government Hospital,” he said.

He added that the remaining victims—mostly passengers aboard the tricycles—suffered various degrees of injuries and were receiving emergency care at the hospital.
