Two people have died and 19 others sustained injuries in a serious accident near Fiesta Royale Hotel on the N1 highway in Accra.
The collision, which occurred on Monday evening, involved multiple vehicles, including a Kia motor truck (GG 1304-18), a Sprinter bus (GX 8325-13), and a Volvo trailer (GT 7856-20).
In a statement, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said a distress call was received at 7:58 p.m., and rescue teams arrived on the scene by 8:14 p.m.
The two fatalities occurred on the spot, while the injured were transported to Achimota Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital for treatment.
Working alongside other emergency responders, the fire service secured the scene, prevented secondary incidents, and cleared the roadway to restore traffic flow.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
GNFS extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured a speedy recovery, urging all motorists to observe traffic regulations and prioritize road safety.
