The Anti-Robbery Unit of the Kete-Krachi Divisional Police Command has arrested two individuals for possessing suspected Indian hemp.
The suspects, identified as John Dzeble, 34, and Adzobi Mesiwotso, 24, were apprehended on June 15, 2025, during an intelligence-led operation.
Police intercepted an Opel Astra with registration number GT 6430-13, driven by Dzeble, with Mesiwotso as a passenger.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered 86 compressed parcels of substances believed to be Indian hemp. The drugs were concealed in various compartments of the car, including the engine bay, doors, and boot.
DSP John Nchor of the Oti Regional Police Public Affairs Unit revealed that a portable measuring scale and a roll of masking tape—presumed to have been used in packaging the drugs—were also retrieved.
The suspects are currently in custody assisting with investigations.
The Oti Regional Police Command has commended the arresting officers and reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and related criminal activities in the region.
