Two arrested over Ablekuma North rerun violence

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the violence that marred the parliamentary re-run in the Ablekuma North Constituency on Friday, July 11, 2025.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Accra Regional Police Command and signed by the Head of Public Affairs, Superintendent Juliana Obeng.

The suspects have been identified as Musah Muntari, a 46-year-old Station Manager at STC, and Ali Saeed, also known as Mboma, a 43-year-old businessman.

According to the statement, the two are currently assisting with investigations into the incidents of violence and assault recorded during the election.

Meanwhile, the police have assured the public of their unwavering commitment to bringing all perpetrators of election-related violence, intimidation, or misconduct to justice.

“We urge the public to continue cooperating with the Police and to share credible information,” the statement read, adding that citizens can contact the Police via emergency lines 18555 or 191.
