The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with a violent robbery and murder that occurred at Aduman in the Kodie Municipality on October 19, 2025.
ASP Emmanuel Agbodzi, Acting Public Relations Officer for the Command, identified the suspects as 28-year-old Sani Abacha and 23-year-old Asante Eric. Both were apprehended through an intelligence-led operation.
Police investigations revealed that the victims, 18-year-old Kwabena Yankyira and 15-year-old Kwabena Boateng, were lured by Abacha under the pretext of helping transport firewood from his farm. Abacha attacked them with a cutlass, inflicting multiple wounds, and stole the complainant’s tricycle. He later collaborated with Eric to hide the vehicle at Aboabogya Cemetery before selling it to another suspect, Balawe, who remains at large.
Kwabena Yankyira was found unconscious by residents and rushed to St. Patrick’s Hospital at Maase-Offinso, where he is receiving treatment. Tragically, the younger victim, Kwabena Boateng, was found dead nearby.
Police recovered a cutlass believed to have been used in the attack, and both suspects have reportedly confessed.
The two appeared before the Kodie Magistrate Court on October 28, 2025, and were remanded into custody, scheduled to reappear on November 25. Authorities continue efforts to arrest the third suspect and recover the stolen tricycle.
