Truck carrying bottled water crashes at Mamfe-Amamprobi; driver trapped

A dramatic rescue unfolded at Mamfe-Amamprobi on Monday, September 8, 2025, after a DAF Cargo truck carrying over 1,000 cartons of bottled water veered off the road, leaving its driver trapped in the mangled vehicle.

 

The truck, with registration number GR 3583-15, was en route to Kumasi when it reportedly suffered brake failure, causing the accident.

The impact severely damaged the front compartment, pinning the driver inside.

A rescue team from the Akropong Fire Station rushed to the scene and worked through the wreckage to free the victim.

He was later transported to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

The accident also left the vehicle’s head compartment partially wrecked, four rims damaged, and two tyres shredded. Police confirmed that no other casualties were recorded.
