Veteran Ghanaian hiplife musician Togbe Afrika is set to make a major return to the music scene with a homecoming concert scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Infinity Stars Hotel in Penyi.
The event, dubbed “Togbe Afrika Homecoming,” is expected to bring together music lovers, traditional leaders, young people, entertainment personalities and residents from across the Volta Region.
The concert will also feature Ghanaian female artiste Enam and versatile rapper Jah Phinga, alongside other emerging talents from the region.
Togbe Afrika, who began his music career around 1997, is returning to the stage after nearly two decades away from active music.
He is remembered for his hiplife hit “Danye Sidzima” and gospel-oriented songs including “Menyabe Awoenam.”
According to the musician, the decision to stage his comeback concert in Dzodze-Penyi is a return to his roots, having grown up in the area and received part of his basic education there.
He said the homecoming is also an opportunity to reconnect with his community, seek the blessings of traditional leaders and formally introduce plans for a broader programme focused on music, education, entrepreneurship and international opportunities for young people.
Beyond entertainment, the event is expected to focus on youth empowerment, with Togbe Afrika seeking to encourage young people to avoid drug abuse, alcoholism and other destructive behaviours.
He also plans to use the platform to create awareness about international education opportunities, including scholarships in Indonesia.
Togbe Afrika, who serves as Honorary Consul of Indonesia to Ghana, said he wants young people to explore education, skills development, entrepreneurship and international opportunities as pathways to a better future.
He also intends to support emerging musicians through ROIS Music Productions by providing mentorship and assistance in songwriting, music production and career development.
The homecoming will provide a platform for artistes from Dzodze-Penyi, Aflao-Denu, Agbozume-Klikor, Akatsi-Abor and Ave Dakpa to showcase their talents.
Organisers expect about 4,000 patrons at the event, which is being powered by ROIS Travels, with ROIS TV as the official media partner.
The organisers say the Dzodze-Penyi event will be the first in a series of homecoming programmes planned across the Volta Region before the launch of the Togbe Afrika University Campus Tour in November.
The campus tour will combine music, education, tourism, entrepreneurship and global opportunities, beginning in the Volta Region before expanding to other tertiary institutions across Ghana.
Togbe Afrika is calling on residents, traditional leaders, businesses, corporate organisations, development partners and other stakeholders to support the initiative and help promote the region’s music, culture, tourism and youth development.
