Thomas Partey set to leave Arsenal after contract talks collapse

-

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to leave Arsenal at the end of June after contract extension talks between the two parties broke down.

According to renowned Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Partey will exit the club as a free agent.

“Thomas Partey, set to leave Arsenal as a free agent at the end of the month,” Romano confirmed via his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Arsenal had been in discussions with the player’s representatives regarding a possible extension but failed to reach an agreement.

In preparation for his departure, the Gunners have reportedly lined up Brentford’s Christian Nørgaard as a potential replacement.

The North London side is believed to be working on a deal worth an initial £10 million, with an additional £5 million in performance-related bonuses.

Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020 on a five-year contract, has made 167 appearances and scored nine goals for the club.

He is now attracting interest from clubs in Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.
