Thomas Partey reaffirms Black Stars’ focus on 2026 World Cup qualification

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has reaffirmed the Black Stars’ determination to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Following back-to-back victories in March against Chad and Madagascar, the four-time African champions now sit atop Group I with 15 points, boosting their hopes of reaching the global tournament to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Speaking in an interview with 3Sports, the Arsenal star expressed confidence in Ghana’s chances of returning to the world stage.

“As players, we want to be at the World Cup. We were there the last time, and we saw how nice it is, and we want to be there again. So hopefully, we win the rest of the games, and we will be there,” the 31-year-old said.

The Black Stars will resume their qualification campaign in September, with crucial Matchday 7 and 8 fixtures against Chad and Mali.
