There are plans to have a management committee to oversee duties of all national teams – Sports Minister

Kofi Adams

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has revealed that government is considering the formation of a single Management Committee to oversee the affairs of all national football teams.

Currently, each national team operates under its own Management Committee, a structure that has drawn criticism from sections of the public and football analysts, who believe it promotes inefficiency and duplication of roles.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show after Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Mr Adams explained that adopting a unified committee could streamline operations and ensure better coordination across all national teams.

“Elsewhere, it is only one Management Committee for national teams, but going into the future, I believe that we can exploit that so that we will have one Management Committee for the various national teams,” he said.

The minister also confirmed that members of the current Black Stars Management Committee, chaired by Dr Randy Abbey, with former Black Stars captain serving as vice chairman, and Moses Armah, Samuel Aboabire, and Dr Richard Nsenkyire as members, will receive rewards for their role in guiding the team to secure qualification for the World Cup.
