NPP Youth Organiser Salam Mustapha has called on Ghanaian youth to rise against what he terms selective justice and abuse of office by the John Mahama-led government.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, September 19, Mr. Mustapha accused security agencies of targeting NPP members with politically motivated arrests, physical assaults, and violations of legal rights, including breaches of the 48-hour rule and the imposition of stringent bail conditions.
He further claimed that individuals affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) receive leniency, citing threats against Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and an alleged assault on NPP’s third Vice Chairman, Alhaji Osman Masawudu, by NDC’s Chief Awudu Sofo Azorka.
“We’re seeing state-sponsored harassment of opposition voices. The youth of Ghana are no longer safe. They cannot speak. We will resist oppressive rule,” he asserted.
Mr. Mustapha urged youth to participate in a planned protest on Tuesday, September 23, which he said would demonstrate opposition to what he described as growing tyranny under the current administration.
