The Church is the conscience of the nation – Local Gov’t Minister urges faith-led nation building

Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has described the Church as “the conscience of the nation,” highlighting its essential role in guiding moral values, civic discipline, and national transformation.

He made the remarks while worshipping with the congregation of Royal House Chapel International during the climax of its annual Convention of Saints in Accra on Sunday, 5th October 2025.

Mr. Ibrahim, who is also the Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency, attended the service with his Deputy Minister, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, MP for La Dadekotopon.

Their visit formed part of efforts to extend President John Dramani Mahama’s greetings and goodwill to Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah and the congregation.

Commending the church’s leadership, the Minister lauded Apostle General Korankye Ankrah and the entire Royal House Chapel for their ongoing contribution to moral renewal, civic responsibility, and national cohesion.

He acknowledged the broader Christian community for its consistent influence in shaping values, inspiring transformation, and supporting leadership in promoting social and national development.

“The Church remains the conscience of our nation,” Mr. Ibrahim said. “The answers to Ghana’s challenges lie within the moral and spiritual revival of our people. When the Church rises to guide and transform hearts, the nation follows suit.”

He appealed for continued prayers for divine direction in executing his duties and intercession for President Mahama, that God grant him wisdom and strength to govern the country with justice and compassion.

The Minister also conveyed the President’s gratitude to the Royal House Chapel family for their steadfast prayers, unity, and commitment to peace and good governance.

The Convention of Saints climaxed in an atmosphere of spirited worship, thanksgiving, and prayer, a reflection of the enduring bond between faith and leadership in Ghana’s pursuit of renewal, unity, and sustainable national progress.
