As part of efforts to nurture talents in the Tema East constituency, the Member of Parliament (MP) has facilitated the construction of an astro turf pitch in the area.
The facility, which will be financed by the Ghana Ports and Habours Authority, would be handled by Ghana’s market leaders in the construction and management of artificial football turf, Wembley Sports Construction Company Limited (WSCCL).
The MP, Hon. Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, said when completed the turf will provide a big platform for the youth in the area to showcase their talents, as well as equip them with the needed skills to compete with the rest of the world.
The sod-cutting ceremony is slated for Saturday July 27, 2019 at Tema Newtown.
WSCCL constructed its first synthetic grass in 2014 for the people of Kotobabi and its environs. Not long ago, WSCCL won a contract with the Government of Ghana to construct same for Walewale Zongo in the Northern region, Kyebi Zongo in the Eastern region and Madina Zongo in Greater Accra.
