Teachers staying off campus hinders effective supervision of students in boarding – Ejisu SHTS Headmaster

The Headmistress of Ejisu Technical Senior High School in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Grace Asamani, has expressed concerns about the low number of staff living on campus to cater for about 2,000 in boarding.

Due to the inadequacy of teachers’ bungalows, only three teachers are living on campus, which hinders effective supervision of students staying in boarding houses.

Speaking to Adom News when the MP for Ejisu donated 100 bags of cement to support the school’s infrastructure development, the Headmistress called on old students, philanthropists, and the government to provide developmental support.

“Our school is a Category B school, but we are suffering from infrastructure development,” she noted. “Our fence wall is incomplete, which creates a way for intruders. The boys’ dormitory is uncompleted, and our storey building also serves as a classroom and dormitory. The dining hall is a pavilion and also serves as an assembly hall”.

The Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency, Kwabena Boateng, donated the 100 bags of cement to help complete the building of the fence wall to enhance security.
