Police have arrested social activist Wendell Nana Yaw Yeboah over allegations implicating some Regional Ministers in illegal mining activities.

During a phone-in interview, Yeboah claimed that Ashanti, Eastern, and Western Regional Ministers were complicit, urging the NIAMOS task force to direct its scrutiny toward them.

He was taken into custody by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) following a formal complaint lodged by Mr. Daniel Sasu Omari and two others on behalf of the accused.

According to the petitioners, Yeboah circulated claims they insist are fabricated and damaging.

Police say Yeboah is currently assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned on Thursday, November 27, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to address what authorities describe as deliberate misinformation aimed at public officeholders.

The CID has not provided further details as the case progresses.

Meanwhile, Yeboah has offered a retraction and apology to the accused.
