Support Mahama’s agenda even without positions – Asiedu Nketia to NDC members

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party members who have not received government appointments to remain committed to the NDC and support President John Mahama’s leadership.

Speaking during a visit to the Asuogyaman district, Mr. Asiedu Nketia noted that the number of qualified individuals often exceeds available government positions, making it impossible to appoint every member immediately.

“It is better to be a floor member in government than to be the same in opposition. Those teasing you that you didn’t get appointments for all your struggles are jealous of you. Stay focused and wait for your time,” he advised.

He also highlighted that President Mahama has a full four-year term with the possibility of reshuffles, meaning more opportunities for qualified individuals to serve in government.

Addressing branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former executives, assembly members, and other party groups, Mr. Asiedu Nketia commended the dedication and commitment of NDC members toward the 2024 electoral victory.

“In the last election, I targeted specific constituencies to campaign and ensure we win parliamentary seats. When I saw your enthusiasm and commitment, I promised to return for a victory celebration. Though it was delayed, I am finally here to thank you for your unwavering support,” he said.

He further assured members of more job opportunities, including vacancies in the Police and other security agencies, encouraging them to apply when announcements are made.

The three-day thank-you tour in the Eastern Region will cover 16 constituencies, including Asuogyaman, Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, Yilo Krobo, Okere, Akuapem North and South, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Upper and Lower West Akyem, Asene-Manso-Akroso, Achiase, Swedru, Akyem Oda, Kade, and Akwatia.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia also praised party executives, emphasizing that all who wish to contest in their positions deserve another term.
