The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party supporters to prioritise good governance over personal or partisan interests.
Speaking in the Ekumfi Constituency, Mr Asiedu Nketia said supporting the government’s efforts to succeed would ultimately benefit both the party and the country.
He noted that if the government performs well and later supports party members, Ghanaians would not object.
He emphasised that President John Dramani Mahama has a responsibility to address the country’s challenges, cautioning that diverting resources for partisan spending could derail development projects such as roads and schools.
According to Mr Asiedu Nketia, failure to focus on delivering tangible results for the people could cost the party power in future elections.
He therefore called on party members to support government programmes that aim to meet the needs of Ghanaians, noting that this approach would also benefit the party in the long term.
