In a bid to strengthen security in the Sunyani West Municipality, Member of Parliament Millicent Yeboah Amankwaah has donated a brand-new pickup truck and two motorbikes to the Ghana Police Service.
The donation comes amid rising reports of robbery along the Sunyani–Nsuatre highway and surrounding communities, posing a threat to commuters—especially those traveling at night.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the MP expressed hope that the vehicles would enhance police visibility and response times.
She noted that improved mobility for law enforcement would contribute significantly to reducing drug-related incidents and other criminal activities in the municipality.
Receiving the items on behalf of the service, Bono Regional Police Commander, DCOP Yao Tetega, thanked the MP for her timely intervention.
He assured the public that the vehicles would be put to effective use to enhance security.
DCOP Tetega also issued a strong warning to criminals and drug dealers operating in the area, urging them to desist from their activities.
He emphasized the police’s renewed commitment to intensify patrols and maintain peace across the municipality.
He further commended the MP for her continued support of the Ghana Police Service.
