Suhum MCE inspects ongoing reshaping work on the Amanshyia-Akorabo Road

The Suhum Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Lydia Ohenewa Sarah, has inspected ongoing reshaping works on the Amanshyia-Akorabo Road, which residents say had become a deathtrap due to heavy rains.

The poor state of the road had sparked agitation among residents, prompting the assembly to undertake temporary repairs.

According to the MCE, the current reshaping is a stopgap measure to make the road motorable while the government prepares to award a full-scale construction contract.

She assured residents of the government’s commitment to the long-term rehabilitation of the road.

Lydia Ohenewa Sarah acknowledged the extensive damage caused by the rains and revealed that the assembly is strategising to commence full construction soon. She also pledged that other communities in the municipality would benefit from similar road reshaping projects.

Drivers in the area have commended the MCE for the intervention but urged the government to expedite the full construction of the Amanshyia-Akorabo Road.
