The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has cautioned party stalwarts against engaging in public discussions about potential candidates for the party’s next flagbearership position.

He warned Members of Parliament, party executives, appointees, and communicators not to disclose personal preferences ahead of the party’s next primaries.

According to him, such conversations are premature and have the potential to undermine party unity if left unchecked.

Mr Gbande stressed that party members must “run away” from debates that fuel speculation and internal division.

He warned that any individual who openly comments on the flagbearer race or attempts to introduce what he described as “drama” into the party will be invited to the party headquarters for questioning.

He added that members who defy the directive and persist in such conduct will be referred to the NDC’s disciplinary committee.

The Deputy General Secretary emphasised that the party’s leadership remains focused on cohesion and discipline, and will not hesitate to apply internal sanctions to protect unity and collective purpose.
