Nii Amasah Namoale

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dadekotopon constituency, Nii Amasah Namoale, says the incumbent government should stop bragging about $600 million loan they’ve not yet received for the revamping of the cocoa sector.

The comment follows the government’s expectation of a fund from ADB and another $600 million loan for the cocoa sector over a period of seven years to ensure 1.5 million metric tones gain to boost productivity.

The initiative is aimed at increasing cocoa production by introducing modern techniques and technology and drifting away from the annual syndication of loans as capital investment.

“This is intent so they should stop making noise about it. The loan is yet to be sent to parliament to be passed so why are they building castles in the air?” he quizzed.
