STEPSS relieved from water crisis as Linda Dor Enterprises provides boreholes

Students of St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Senior High/Technical School (STEPSS) in Asiakwa, Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region, have received much-needed relief after years of battling a severe water crisis.

For months, the shortage forced students to spend hours searching for water, miss classes, and even risk their lives crossing busy roads to access potable water.

To address this challenge, Linda Dor Enterprises Limited has constructed and handed over three mechanized boreholes to underserved communities in Akyem Asiakwa, including STEPSS. The facilities, fitted with pumping machines, are expected to benefit about 3,000 people, including students and surrounding residents.

At the handover ceremony, STEPSS Headmaster, Rev. Edward Asamoah Boateng, expressed gratitude for the intervention, stressing that the water crisis had severely disrupted academic activities. He also appealed to corporate bodies and philanthropists to support the school’s broader infrastructure needs.

Executive Director of Linda Dor Enterprises, George Boateng, urged the community to adopt a strong maintenance culture to ensure the long-term use of the facility, while highlighting its importance in preventing waterborne diseases.
