Black Stars coach Otto Addo says South Korea’s sharper finishing proved decisive in Ghana’s narrow defeat in Seoul.
Ghana slipped to a 1-0 loss in their final international friendly on Tuesday morning at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, closing out the November window without a win.
After a balanced first half, Lee Tae-Seok broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute, steering the hosts ahead.
South Korea later earned a penalty, but Benjamin Asare denied Hwang Hee-Chang to keep Ghana in the contest, though the Black Stars couldn’t find a response before the final whistle.
Reflecting on the performance, Addo acknowledged the progress of his squad but admitted the Koreans managed the decisive moments better.
“They [South Korea] were more clinical with the chances they had. I think we had good ball possession, but also a lot of chances which we couldn’t use,” Addo said.
“The difference was that they used their chances even though they missed a penalty. I think the game was kind of even, I think it was good to watch,” he added.
The result caps a difficult Asian tour for Ghana, who also fell 2-0 to Japan on Friday, ending their 2025 campaign on a disappointing note.
