Soldier arrested for assaulting woman and pharmacist at Burma Camp

-

A soldier, identified as WO1 Mensah Williams of the Ghana Air Force, has been arrested by military police for allegedly assaulting a pharmacist and a young woman at Burma Camp in Accra.

Sources say the incident occurred earlier this week when WO1 Williams, attached to the Office of the Chief of Staff, attacked the victims inside a pharmacy.

A viral video shows him slapping the pharmacist and repeatedly striking a woman who attempted to film the altercation.

Military police intervened and arrested the officer, who has since been handed over to the Cantonments Police for further investigation.

While the Ghana Armed Forces have not yet issued an official statement, sources indicate that disciplinary action will follow if he is found guilty.

The incident has sparked public outrage and renewed calls for strict enforcement of military discipline.
