After the long Christmas break, trading and commercial activities in the central business district of Kumasi are bouncing back.

However, smoked fish sellers at Kejetia market have decried low patronage before and after Christmas season.

According to the traders, the heightened Christmas trading activities did not impact their side of the market.

Speaking to some of the traders, they alluded to high cost of the commodity impeding patronage.

“Smoked fish is the best nutrition fish everyone needs to eat but its price is deterring most people to cold stores. This Christmas, all our smoked fish went unsold,” they lamented.
