The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has disbursed loans to an additional 5,667 tertiary students for the 2024/2025 academic year, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 31,659 across 130 public and private tertiary institutions nationwide.
This latest disbursement, according to SLTF management, aligns with the John Mahama-led administration’s commitment to making higher education more inclusive and accessible, regardless of students’ socio-economic backgrounds.
The SLTF has assured its continued dedication to ensuring timely release of funds, enabling students to gain admission into tertiary institutions of their choice without financial constraints.
In a Facebook post, the Chief Executive Officer of the SLTF, Dr. Saajida Shiraz, reiterated the institution’s support for the government’s No-Fees-Stress policy, highlighting its importance in helping students complete their education without the burden of fees.
“As we work to implement the No-Fees-Stress policy, we remain committed to providing financial support to continuing students,” Dr. Shiraz stated.
She further emphasized that the SLTF remains focused on its core mandate: accelerating national development through equitable access to quality tertiary education.
Dr. Shiraz also encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of the policy and ensure that the government’s efforts yield positive outcomes.
