The skeletal remains of an 85-year-old woman, Obaapanyin Adwoah Takyiwaa, have been discovered at Camp 15 near Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.
The remains were found in a bush on Thursday, June 19, 2025, by hunters, following her mysterious disappearance over three months ago.
According to information gathered by Adom News, the hunters were led to the site by their dog, whose persistent barking drew their attention.
They quickly abandoned their hunt and rushed to inform community opinion leaders.
Confirming the incident, the chief’s linguist, Nana Osei, said traditional authorities and the police later visited the scene.
Libation was poured to pray for the peaceful rest of the deceased—popularly known as Adwoah Gonja—should her death have been natural.
However, they also invoked the deities of the land to expose any foul play, should she have been murdered.
