As Tottenham Hotspur prepare to travel to the South Coast to face Bournemouth tomorrow night, French forward Randal Kolo Muani has broken his silence on his whirlwind start to life in London, his recovery from a fractured jaw, and the “box-to-box” nature of the world’s most demanding league.
In a chat with Showmax Premier League, the Paris Saint-Germain loanee reflected on a challenging but rewarding opening chapter at Spurs.
Since arriving from the French capital, Kolo Muani has had to adapt rapidly to a league he describes as the pinnacle of the sport.
“All I can say is that London is a place I had never been to before, and I had never played here either,” Kolo Muani said.
“It’s been a really great experience for me, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity. It’s a new challenge, playing in one of the best leagues in the world, and it’s something I’ve had to adapt to help my teammates and contribute to the team.”
The 27-year-old’s momentum was nearly derailed by a fractured jaw sustained early in a high-profile encounter against Manchester United.

Despite the pain, the forward’s resilience was on full display as he attempted to play through the injury before being substituted at the interval.
“I felt the contact during the game and saw the medical staff, who said I could continue. I tried to play on, but at half-time I realised I couldn’t continue,” he explained.
While the injury required him to wear a protective mask, Kolo Muani refused to let it dampen his aggressive style of play.
“At first, I was a little bit afraid of going in for headers, but now I’m not afraid at all. In football, you know injuries can happen at any time—that’s part of the game. You can’t play with fear.”
Kolo Muani’s return to fitness comes at a vital time for Spurs.
Tomorrow night, Wednesday 07 January, Tottenham face a stern test away at Bournemouth.
The Frenchman believes the “intensity” of the Premier League means there are no easy fixtures.
“In the Premier League, the biggest difference is the intensity and the box-to-box nature of the football. From one minute to the next, anything can happen, so you really must be at the top of your game, no matter which team you’re playing against.”

He added that even training provides no respite, citing daily battles with teammate Cristian Romero as “already very tough.”
The forward also credited Spurs manager Thomas Frank for his smooth transition, revealing a relationship built on meticulous tactical preparation.
“He’s the one who brought me to Tottenham… he helps me a lot. Every day we watch videos, we talk about many things, and he gives me a lot of advice. That helps me improve day by day, not only as a player, but also as a person.”
He also reveals who he’s become close with in the Spurs dressing room.
“Djed (Spence), Cuti (Romero) and Pedro (Porro).”
“That said, I wouldn’t say I have one best friend in the squad. I’m quite an open person I like to talk, joke around, discuss things, and I speak with everyone.

Off the pitch, the French forward has found peace in the quiet life of a “home-loving person,” spending time with his wife and occasionally venturing into the city for shopping.
Inspired by French legends Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry, Kolo Muani is now focused on leaving his own mark on English football, starting with tomorrow’s trip to the Vitality Stadium.
