Ghana’s long-standing music rivalry took an unexpected turn as Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy appeared on the same stage during the official launch of the Black Stars World Cup raffle draw.
The event, led by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, brought together key figures from the entertainment and sports industries to rally national support for the Black Stars.
But beyond the football agenda, it was the quiet, almost tense coexistence of the two dancehall giants that captured attention.
For over a decade, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have dominated headlines with a rivalry that has shaped fan culture and fueled some of Ghana’s biggest music moments. Yet, at this event, there were no exchanges, no public gestures, just a shared stage and a mutual focus on the occasion.
While both artistes maintained professionalism throughout the programme, they kept a clear distance from each other.
Nonetheless, organizers praised both artistes for lending their support to the initiative, all for the love of the Black Stars.
Also present at the launch were fast-rising artiste Kweku Flick, popular sports presenter Countryman Songo, former Black Stars defender John Paintsil, and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
The raffle initiative is expected to drive fan engagement and rally support for the Black Stars ahead of the World Cup.
