Legacy Rise Sports CEO Sharaf Mahama has explained why the upcoming boxing event will be held at the Legon Sports Stadium.
Scheduled for December 20, the event is expected to be one of the biggest boxing spectacles in recent years.
Speaking on Adom TV’s Fire for Fire, Mahama said the stadium’s larger capacity was a major factor in the decision. “The Legon Sports Stadium can accommodate around 17,000 spectators, compared to 5,000 at the Bukom Boxing Arena,” he noted.
He expressed excitement for the event, assuring fans that all fighters on the card are prepared to deliver memorable performances.
The card will feature some of Ghana’s top boxers, including Freezy Macbones and 2023 African Games bronze medalist Theophilus Allotey. Internationally, former British champions Craig Richards and Dan Azeez will clash in a highly anticipated light-heavyweight bout.
Legacy Rise Sports previously drew international attention when British boxing stars Anthony Joshua and Amir Khan attended their event at the Bukom Boxing Arena last year, setting the stage for another high-profile showdown.
