The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested seven suspects in connection with a string of robberies at Ashaiman Sakasaka Park and Dagomba Junction in the Greater Accra Region.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police said a group of young men allegedly attacked victims at the two locations, using weapons to threaten them before making away with valuable items.
The stolen items included an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a Samsung A03 Core, a backpack containing a Dell laptop and its charger, a power bank, an Infinix Hot 40i smartphone, and an unspecified amount of cash.
Following swift police intervention and support from eyewitnesses, two of the suspects—identified as Moses Kwame Helu and Jonathan Osabutey—were arrested.
Subsequent intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of additional suspects. Robert Amekudzi and a juvenile whose name has been withheld were picked up with the stolen backpack and Dell laptop in their possession.
Another suspect, Bernard Dzumador, and an unnamed juvenile were also arrested with the stolen iPhone 12 Pro Max and Samsung A03 Core.
All seven are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations. They are expected to be charged and put before court soon.
The Tema Regional Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to maintaining law and order and has urged residents to stay alert and report suspicious activities promptly.
