The Central Regional Police Command has arrested seven suspects in a targeted swoop against narcotic drug peddling and related criminal activities within the Cape Coast Metropolis.
The arrests were made on Saturday, 13 December 2025, during an intelligence-led operation aimed at clamping down on the sale and use of prohibited drugs in identified hotspots across the metropolis.

At a known drug base at Effutu, police arrested two suspects after conducting a search that led to the retrieval of assorted narcotic substances and related items.
The items included sachets and tablets of timaking and Tdrona, royal fart, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, tobacco products, lighters, and several packs of assorted cigarettes.

The operation was later extended to Poly Amisano and Nkanfoa, both identified as active drug peddling areas.
Five additional suspects were arrested at Poly Amisano, where a search at a drinking spot resulted in the retrieval of large quantities of cigarettes, tobacco products, lighters, and three jackpot gaming machines.

Police further retrieved four additional jackpot machines at Nkanfoa during the exercise.
All seven suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, as police intensify efforts to combat drug-related activities within the Central Region.
