See areas to be affected by ECG’s planned maintenance on July 6, 2025

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a temporary power outage in parts of Tema on Sunday, July 6, 2025, due to scheduled maintenance works aimed at enhancing service delivery.

In a public notice issued on Friday, July 4, ECG stated that the maintenance exercise will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., affecting both residential and industrial areas.

According to the statement, the affected locations include Mckeon, Westrafo, Sky Quarries, Chase Petroleum, Gold Recoveries, Sethi Realty, Abodakpi Farms, Ghana Steel, and Kpone—specifically the Dumpsite and Kokompe zones. Other impacted areas are Global Haulage, Franpac, Atlas, Slaughter House, Sonapak, Nissan Assembly Plant, Vehrad Transport, Isopanel, Legon 5, and surrounding communities.

ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience the outage may cause but stressed that the maintenance work is necessary to ensure a more reliable and stable power supply.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” the notice read. “We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise.”

The utility company urged residents and businesses in the affected areas to take the necessary precautions and plan accordingly.
