Two police posts in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region have been destroyed by unidentified persons following the recent police shooting incident at Sefwi Sayerano, which claimed three lives.

The affected facilities are the Benchema Barrier Police Post and the Asempanaye Police Post, which were reportedly vandalised and destroyed amid tensions following the fatal shooting incident.

The development has raised security concerns in the affected communities as residents await investigations into both the shooting and the destruction of the police facilities.

The Juaboso District Chief Executive, Alexander Adu Quist, has visited the bereaved families and injured victims to express his condolences and sympathies.

He assured the affected families of the Assembly’s support during the difficult period and pledged that steps would be taken to assist those impacted by the incident.

The DCE also announced that the damaged police posts at Benchema Barrier and Asempanaye would be reconstructed to restore security presence and services in the communities.

Meanwhile, the Assemblyman for the Sefwi Sayerano Electoral Area, Samuel Agyekum, has called for compensation for the families of the deceased and those injured during the incident.

He urged authorities to provide the needed support to help affected families cope with the aftermath of the tragedy.
