The New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman for Asante Akyem South constituency, Kyei Noah, has extended an apology to Samira Bawumia to convey to her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The apology follows a “despicable and divisive” comment made by the constituency’s Member of Parliament, Kwaku Asante Boateng, during an interview with Adom TV, in which he suggested that Dr. Bawumia is unfit to lead the party.
Speaking during Samira Bawumia’s visit to delegates in Asante Akyem Juaso, where she was campaigning for her husband to become the NPP flagbearer, Kyei Noah stated that such remarks from a party MP would not help promote unity among members.
He urged delegates to vote overwhelmingly for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, targeting 80 percent support in the upcoming NPP presidential primaries, scheduled for December 31, 2026.
