Savannah Regional Minister, Salisu Be-Awurbe Esq., has confirmed that 31 people have so far lost their lives in the recent conflict between Gonjas and Lobis in the Gbeniyiri community.

The minister made the disclosure during a visit to the area with a delegation led by Sonyowura Kanyiti, representing Yagbonwura Bii Kunuto Jewu Soale I, the overlord of the Gonja Kingdom.

The team visited the Gbeniyiri chief’s palace, which was destroyed during the disturbances, as well as other scenes of violence.
