Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, has denied reports suggesting he owns a newly registered Toyota V8 SUV bearing the number plate “Djata 1-25.”
In a statement issued on social media, the minister, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, pointed out clear discrepancies that disprove the speculation.
According to him, the spelling on the number plate — Djata — differs from how he personally spells his moniker, Dzata.
The MP added that he has not acquired a new vehicle this year, contrary to claims circulating online.
While appreciating well-wishers who may have hoped he had made such a purchase, he emphasized that his immediate focus remains on critical national matters.
“My focus for now is on the response from DSTV, which is due latest by Monday, 21st July 2025,” he stated, referencing his ongoing engagement with the satellite television service provider.
My attention has been drawn to this video and attempts to suggest the said vehicle belongs to me.
The claim is FALSE!
Anyone who knows me knows I spell my name as DZATA not DJATA as on the number plate. I appreciate those hoping I have bought a new car this year but I have not… pic.twitter.com/Nkxj8Os6uk
