Salis Samed brings energy and experience – OGC Nice sporting director

OGC Nice sporting director Florian Maurice has praised the acquisition of Ghana midfielder Salis Abdul Samed ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The 25-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 club after parting ways with RC Lens.

He spent last season on loan at Sunderland, where he played a pivotal role in the Black Cats’ promotion to the Premier League.

Maurice believes the former Clermont Foot player will inject valuable experience and energy into the squad.

“We were looking for dynamism, impact and good energy in midfield,” he said.

“Salis is a balanced player, with a slightly more defensive profile than his direct competitors.

“He is fully committed on the pitch, has a real personality, and his knowledge of Ligue 1 and his personality will contribute positively to communication and the dynamic in the dressing room,” he added.

Salis is set to begin a new chapter with Nice and could make his debut on August 16, when Le Gym host Toulouse at the Allianz Riviera.
