Salam Mustapha slams EC over Ablekuma North re-run [Video]

National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has raised concerns over what he describes as increasing partisanship within Ghana’s justice system.

He warned that the situation is deteriorating to the point where “you must show your party card before receiving justice in court.”

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Mustapha also criticised the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision to order a re-run of elections in Ablekuma North, describing it as “questionable” and a potential recipe for chaos.

“For the EC to initially insist there was no need for a re-run and then suddenly change its stance raises serious concerns,” he stated.

“Our official position as the NPP is clear: only three polling stations remain to be collated, not 19 as claimed by the EC. We will not accept any re-run in Ablekuma North.”

Mr. Mustapha further accused the EC of overstepping its mandate and warned that such actions could erode public confidence in Ghana’s electoral system.

“The demeanor of the NDC indicates that they know they have lost it,” he added.
