Robert Klah, Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Productions Ltd, has addressed challenges some people faced with ticketing during the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
Ghanaian content creator Felicia Osei took to social media to complain that she was denied access to the auditorium because she was told at the checkpoint that her ticket had already been used.
When asked if they had received similar complaints, Robert Klah said, “When we did our post-mortem session, we got that kind of information. That’s why I’m giving you the various scenarios, because there were people who came and were giving out their tickets.”
Speaking to DJ Slim in an interview on Daybreak Hitz, Robert explained that whenever a ticket is scanned, a face is captured next to it. So, anyone else trying to use the same ticket would definitely not be allowed into the venue.
Robert Klah concluded by apologising to Felicia Osei for the bad experience she went through and promised the organisers would meet with their vendors to determine what exactly went wrong.
“So, sorry to her for whatever embarrassment she may have faced, but it’s one of three things. For us, there is a need to investigate and understand what it is, so that we are clear on how to move forward without having an issue. So, apologies to her if she felt any embarrassment, but these are the realities on the ground—it could be any of the three things I’ve mentioned,” he stated.
The company is committed to investigating the matter and improving their processes to prevent similar issues in the future.
