Armed robbers have reportedly attacked 10 commercial vehicles and robbed passengers of their belongings on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway.
The incident occurred around 11:00 pm on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Gomoa Potsin in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The suspects, numbering about seven, blocked the highway while firing indiscriminately, robbing passengers in the process.
They reportedly made away with over 1.7 million CFA, an undisclosed amount of Ghana cedis, mobile phones, and other valuables.
Narrating the ordeal, a resident, Ebo Anderson, told Adom News the robbers had taken advantage of the ongoing road construction along the stretch to carry out their attack.
According to him, the robbers first struck around 11:00 pm and returned again at about 2:00 am. He noted that over five similar cases have been recorded in just two months.
Mr. Anderson has called on the Central Regional Minister, the MP for Gomoa East, Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, and all relevant agencies to urgently beef up security in the area.
