The Ministry of Roads and Highways Ghana has described as false and misleading a report claiming that contractors were paid without the Ministry’s knowledge.

In a disclaimer issued on April 2, 2026, the Ministry said the BioNews publication misrepresented submissions made before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.

According to the Ministry, the statements at the committee were in response to queries arising from the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report and pertain to historical financial transactions within a specific audit period.

The Ministry emphasised that the issues raised do not involve actions under the current leadership of either the Roads Ministry or the Ministry of Finance.

It has called on BioNews to issue a full retraction and unqualified apology, insisting that the disclaimer be published with the same prominence as the original report.
