Retired DCFO Joy Ameyibor Ayim donates laptop to brilliant Ho Technical University student

Retired Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Joy Ameyibor Ayim has extended a hand of support to an underprivileged yet academically gifted Level 100 Bachelor of Technology student in Electrical Engineering and Electronics at Ho Technical University by donating a brand-new laptop to enhance her learning experience after she successfully manufactured a gas leakage detector.

The gesture, made on, 21th July 2025, forms part of Mr. Ayim’s commitment to promoting education in fire prevention and raising awareness about gas explosions in homes, offices, and institutions.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, Mr. Ayim emphasised the importance of supporting young talents regardless of their economic background.

“Some months ago, my attention was drawn to a young lady who had manufactured a device for gas leakage detection. I invited her, gave her more guidelines to improve the equipment, and promised her a laptop to assist with her research. Today, I’ve fulfilled that promise. I want to encourage her and also use this opportunity to call on all Ghanaians to come to her aid. My vision is to help young people in communities to become better people in future,” he said.

The beneficiary, Kekeli Bossoh, expressed gratitude to retired DCFO Ayim for the kind gesture. She pledged to put the laptop to good use and work harder in her academic journey. She also appealed to individuals, NGOs, philanthropists, and well-meaning Ghanaians to support her initiative.

Retired DCFO Joy Ameyibor Ayim, who served with distinction in the Ghana National Fire Service, continues to champion community development projects in retirement, focusing on youth empowerment, education, and mentorship.
